two of these beasts just flew over head. Wow what a noise. very unusual for this area

I miss the sight and sound of the now-retired CH113 Labradors (aka CH-46 Sea Knight) of the Canadian military's Search and Rescue. I never lived anywhere near a base, but when they did fly nearby, you sure knew it.
I can only imagine what two larger, heavier CH-47s must sound like.

I'm not 100% on the type. All I know is it was double rotor. It kinda freaked mt kids out until they could see them or the window.

Without seeing them side-by-side, I wouldn't either. But from what I gather, the CH-47 Chinook is operated by the US Army, and the smaller CH-46 is used by the Marines (and formerly by the Navy).
